The Tow Tractor course, also referred to as a tow tug, will give you the skills needed to be a safe and efficient tow tractor driver. Tow tugs are used in a wide range of environments, including airports, manufacturing, distribution, power plants, mail sorting, and waste management. The course is largely practical in nature, and there will be no more than 3 people on the course to ensure you have enough time on the truck.
These courses enable candidates to discuss and demonstrate the safe operation of an uncoupled electric tow tractor (up to 15,000kg) in both forward and reverse directions, as well as trailer coupling and uncoupling, and the safe manoeuvring of the equipment combination in both forward and reverse directions.
Additionally, candidates will be able to demonstrate an effective pre-use inspection and reporting process.
In our dedicated RTITB-certified Training centre, we offer a wide range of RTITB courses for trainees to learn how to safely operate Counterbalance forklift trucks, Reach trucks, and Pivot Steer forklift trucks in our specially designed area that replicates many working environments, such as warehousing, high-level racking, and lorry loading and unloading areas.
This is an on-client site Course only; our RTITB-certified instructors will visit your workplace to train your staff on the safe use of your own Tow Tractor Equipment in their own working environment.
