What is a general manager, and what do they do?
A GM (General Manager) is a mid to senior level role, who supervises lower-level managers, but will also report to and collaborate with upper management usually a MD (Managing Director) or CEO (Chief Executive Officer).
The role undertaken by the general manager tends to vary from company to company, but it is their responsibility to manage a company, or departments day-to-day operations, and ensure its operating efficiently.

To be a G.M you need to have several years experience in management, you also need an in-depth understanding of how to motivate your staff.
You will also need to be good at multi-tasking, as you will be juggling multiple duties at once.
Confidence is key in a G.M role, been confident in the decisions you make and the confidence to manage and maintain a full team of staff.
